Power and torque upped from Kuga Duratorq diesel.

Ford Kuga gets diesel upgrade
The Duratorq diesel engine is in-line to get an upgrade to 132kW and 400Nm.

Following on from confirmation that the Ecoboost petrol engines are getting a power boost in the Ford Kuga, now the 2.0 litre diesel power plant is also about to get tweaked.

Previously offering 120kW and 340Nm, the engine will jump up to a much more capable 132kW and 400Nm in January. Best of all, despite the increased output, fuel economy drops to as low as 5.7L/100kms (down from 6.4L/100kms on Titanium grade Kuga).

Ford Australia Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service Graeme Whickman says the upgraded engine delivers both the fuel economy and performance that Kuga buyers want.

“The Duratorq diesel is a popular engine in the Ford Kuga and the new 400Nm unit compliments the EcoBoost range to offer customers a line of high-tech engines that provide strong performance and return great fuel efficiency.”

The upgraded diesel engine will be available in AWD/automatic versions of the Ford Kuga Trend and Titanium models.
