Renee reviews her 2012 Hyundai Accent for us.
Hi Behind the Wheel, I have had my Hyundai Accent now for four years and while I often look over at the other cars in the traffic and wish I had something a bit flasher I can’t really complain about how the Hyundai has looked after me.
Mine is Accent with a petrol engine and it has an auto transmission. No, this is not a sports model and this is evident when trying to overtake, it also doesn’t really like steep hills.
But it is good on fuel, sometimes I can go a couple of weeks without having to fuel up. The air-con works well and the steering is nice and light. It’s an easy car to drive, no doubt.
Probably the part of the Hyundai Accent that depresses me most though is the interior – it’s really bland and dull. The seats are pretty uncomfortable if you are in them for any real length of time and the fabric is starting to look a bit worn-out on my seat.
Overall though, it was an inexpensive purchase and it has never given me a problem. Servicing has also never cost me than a couple of hundred dollars, though I have had to replace the tyres already.
Next time I’m going to spend a bit extra and get something with a more comfortable interior and a better stereo system.
