Dean tells us about his 2005 Audi A4 quattro.
Well here it is, my car. When the other guys at school were reading and talking about GT Falcons and HDT/HSV Commodores and the like I was there flying the flag for Europe’s best car brand – Audi.
I love the shape of the Audi A4, right from day one they’ve been an understated and classy looking vehicle and I knew that one day I would just have to have one.
After university I needed a car and I knew exactly what I wanted. It took a little hunting around but eventually I found my 2005 Audi A4 quattro fitted with the larger 3.2 litre engine.
Mine had travelled 110,000km when I got it, it was still in great condition and was a bargain at just $9,000. Since I purchased my car I have put another 15,000km on it and I get it serviced regularly by an expert Audi mechanic.
There really hasn’t been anything serious that has gone wrong with the car, I have replaced a battery, brakes and front wheel bearings, other than she just runs beautifully.
The cabin is holding together well, though the leather driver’s seat is starting to show some wear (I reckon it gives it character). I plan to hold on to the Audi…well forever and I could even add to the Audi collection soon too, yes, another A4.
Overall, this was an $85,000+ car when it was new and though it is now 11 years old it still feels great to drive, everything works as it should and the styling is still fresh.
I’m glad I was able to buy my dream car, it hasn’t disappointed.
