Windscreen Wiper issue sees Subaru models recalled

Almost 37,500 Subaru Outback and Subaru Liberty vehicles sold in Australia earlier this decade are being recalled to fix a possible windscreen wiper fault.

The Subaru Outback/Liberty recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects MY2010-2014 Liberty and Outback vehicles.

You can check to see whether your Subaru is affected by the recall here (have your VIN handy).

Subaru Outback and Liberty vehicles are being recalled to fix an issue that could see the wipers malfunction.

The ACCC recall notice advises that the front windscreen wiper motor bottom cover may melt on those affected vehicles and this may pose a potential fire risk.

Recall notification letters will be sent to owners of potentially affected vehicles as soon as possible.

MY2010-14 Subaru Outback and Liberty owners should contact their nearest Subaru Dealership to arrange to have the recall rectification procedure carried out.
