Volkswagen Golf to go AWD
Volkswagen says the Alltrack will give the versatile Golf wagon SUV-like capabilities, giving buyers the best of both worlds.

Hot on the heels of the Passat getting the all-wheel drive treatment in a new offering called the Passat Alltrack, Volkswagen is about to show a Golf with the same AWD treatment.

The Golf Alltrack will be offered as a wagon only and will feature 20mm more ground clearance than a standard Golf. Light-duty off-roading is also assisted by way of wheel arch mouldings and flared side sills for body protection.

With a choice of petrol and diesel engines to be offered and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION Permanent all-wheel drive system, the VW Golf Alltrack is expected to go on sale in Europe in 2015. As yet Australian availability and other details are yet to be confirmed.
