Everything looks to be moving along nicely for Volkswagen in 2017 with new global sales data confirming October just gone was the brands best on record.
The German car giants delivered 550,900 vehicles in the month, that total a full 7.7% up on the same month last year.
While global Volkswagen sales across the first ten months of the year passed 5.04 million vehicles, a 3.2% improvement on the same period in 2016.
Driving much of the sales growth for Volkswagen in October was a +9.2% increase in demand in China.
In total, 303,800 Volkswagen vehicles were delivered to customers in that country in the month and that makes China Volkswagen’s largest market by far.
There was also a 14.6% increase in sales in Russia (8,000 sales in total), and a 6.3% improvement in North America (including an 11.9% improvement in the USA).
In South America Volkswagen lifted sales in the month to just shy of 36,000 vehicles, a 61.2% gain.
Locally, VFACTS data shows Volkswagen had a solid month in October.
Jürgen Stackmann is the sales chief at Volkswagen, not surprisingly, he was delighted with the October results.
“This has been the most successful October of all time for Volkswagen. A special boost came from the market in China, where there was an increase of some 26,000 vehicles compared with the same month last year.
“We are seeing positive momentum in many regions and are delighted with the continued strong demand for our vehicles.”
