Toyota leads global sales race at halfway mark of 2014.
They are the undisputed kings of the Australian car market and Toyota is now heading towards a global sales record – ten million new car deliveries in one year.
Sales data for the first six months has been released and shows Toyota sold 5.097 million cars in the first half of the year, the Japanese brand leading Volkswagen (4.97 million) and GM (4.982 million).
With a target of becoming the first manufacturer to achieve the ten million car milestone, Toyota has sold 4% more vehicles than for the same period of last year.
Demand for the new Corolla, which looks set to again top the Australian and global sales charts this year, has been one of the major driving forces behind the Toyota sales increase this year.
