Toyota Camry Atara SX gets 2016 upgrade

The sporty Toyota Camry Atara SX is getting an upgrade with Toyota adding satellite-navigation and Digital Radio.

The Atara SX getting the biggest number of new inclusions among a range of new features and improvements being made to the seven model Camry line-up.

The upgrades include the standard fitment of ISOFIX attachment points across the range and all Camry Atara models now boast parking sensors front and rear. The top-spec Atara SL now even comes with a wireless phone charger.

While Toyota has also gained Euro 5 certification across all Camry petrol and hybrid engines in the range.

It’s the Atara SX though that has the best story to tell though, with sat-nav and digital radio also being joined by new 18” alloy wheels, new red inserts along the lower edge of the front grille and rear-bumper diffuser and a power sunshade for the back windscreen.

Available from Toyota dealerships from next week, Toyota Australia sales and marketing chief, Tony Cramb, says the only price change being introduced to the top-selling mid-size car will be an additional $1,500 for the Atara SX.

“Toyota will continue to build on Camry’s success with advances in technology, safety, comfort and convenience, value and driving enjoyment, ensuring it remains one of Australia’s favourite cars for many years to come,”

“Families and business owners will appreciate the added appeal of the new features, while the introduction of the new-technology wireless phone charger will give Camry an edge in the competitive prestige segment above $35,000.”
