Top safety score for 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder looks set to maintain its five-star ANCAP safety score when the refreshed 2017 version arrives in Australian dealerships.

The updated model, which boasts refreshed styling and a more efficient V6 petrol engine, has just earned a five-star overall vehicle safety rating with the US NCAP (New Car Assessment Program).

NCAP was impressed by the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder’s driver assistance technology including Forward Emergency Braking and Intelligent Cruise Control.

We still don’t know Australian specifications, US models are also set to be offered with Moving Object Detection and Around View® Monitor, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

While standard safety and security features on the US-spec Pathfinder include:

  • Dual-stage front airbags
  • Seat-mounted side-impact airbags
  • Roof-mounted curtain airbags with protection for outboard passengers in all three rows
  • Vehicle Dynamic Control
  • Traction Control
