Transmission bolts not fastened correctly at factory.
A recall affecting thousands of Suzuki vehicles has been announced after it was found bolts that hold the transmission in place may not have been tightened correctly on the production line.
Suzuki Swift, Swift Sport, Kizashi and SX4 models fitted with either an automatic transmission or CVT are affected.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission say the bolts that fasten the drive plate to the torque converter may become loose or detach due to insufficient fastening.
This may lead to an abnormal noise, or in the worst case the detached bolts could lodge in the drive plate cylinder block area, which may cause the engine to stall and not be restarted.
Suzuki Australia will contact affected owners by mail.
