The Suzuki story in recent years has been one of improved models and stable Australian sales, now a new chapter is about to start with the Japanese car brand in the process of looking for a new boss.

After a decade at Suzuki Australia, Andrew Moore has resigned, Suzuki telling us he is pursuing an external opportunity.

During his time with the car brand he operated as National Marketing Manager and General Manager.

Just recently he was appointed to a new position – Director of the Automobiles division.

Suzuki Australia Managing Director Yoshiyuki Hakamata says Andrew will be missed.

“Andrew has played an important part in the continued success of Suzuki automobiles in Australia.

“We acknowledge his efforts and thank him for the unconditional commitment, support, and dedication over the years.”

The change at the top for Suzuki comes after a string of recent senior car management movements, including at Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Renault and Audi.

How’s Suzuki tracking at the moment in the local market?

VFACTS data shows Suzuki car sales in Australia were ahead by 0.2% across the first eight months of 2017, August though was a bright spot – sales improved more than 14% compared to the same month last year.

Suzuki’s best-selling car in Australia in August? The Swift – with a strong 912 sales.
