The new Suzuki Celerio has been recalled to fix a potentially serious brake issue.

Suzuki has immediately suspended the arrival of the new Celerio city car after UK journalists suffered brake failure during a road test!

The news is a major blow to the model, arriving in Australia to replace the pocket-friendly – Suzuki Alto.

The new Thai-built model, which is now in dealerships but hasn’t been delivered to any Australian customers, is now the subject of an official recall in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.

Suzuki Australia Automobiles General Manager Andrew Moore released a statement a short time ago saying the Suzuki Celerio won’t be going anywhere until any problems are identified and sorted.

“Suzuki Australia places safety as a top priority and will not begin selling Celerio in Australia until we are comfortable any possible issues are rectified.”
