Suzuki Australia have a change of personnel at the top of the tree with Yoshiyuki Hakamata appointed managing director of local operations.
Confirmed today by Suzuki, Mr Hakamata will replace outgoing MD Masaaki Kato after a five and a half year stint in charge of the Japanese brand.
Since joining the company in 1985, the new MD previously worked in the motorcycle branch, as well as in operations across the Oceania region.
Suzuki tell us Mr Hakamata brings a wealth of experience to the role and will help Suzuki to continue to grow in Australia.
Mr Hakamata says he looks for forward to the new challenge and build on the work of his predecessor.
“Australia is a very important market for Suzuki Motor Corporation, and I am both honoured and humbled to have been selected to lead such a dedicated and dynamic team.”
The new MD’s arrival comes at an interesting time for Suzuki, local sales are down 6% in 2017, however the arrival of the all-new Suzuki Swift is expected to help boost the brand’s fortunes in coming months.
