Subaru Forester and Subaru WRX Recalled over Air Intake Fault

There has been a second Subaru recall announced today with confirmation models of the Subaru Forester and the Subaru WRX will also need to be returned to a dealership for repairs.

Affecting MY15 Subaru Forester XT vehicles and MY15 and MY16 versions of the Subaru WRX, the air intake fault recall will involve a total of just less than 2,000 Subaru vehicles sold in Australia.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) with the recall notice advising that the air intake ducts may develop cracks.

The crack may lead rough engine idle, lower engine power and in a worst case scenario, engine stalling, which may pose a potential hazard to the driver and other road users.

Known owners will be contacted by mail as soon as parts become available to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for the recall work at no charge.
