Subaru confident heading into 2017

Subaru Australia boss Colin Christie says he has high-hopes for the brand in Australia in 2017.

Speaking at the launch of the all-new Subaru Impreza, Mr Christie told us that after two extremely strong years, 2017 was looking to again be Subaru’s best-ever year here.

Coming on the back of sales increases of 18% (total) in 2015 and 16, Mr Christie said there was plenty to look forward to in the new year.

Mr Christie said he was also hopeful that the consistently popular Subaru Forester and Outback will also continue to grow their sales volumes as more Australian’s head to SUVs.

He also addressed ongoing supply issues and said that he was confident that the situation would improve.

“We are confident that we will be able to get as many cars as we need to meet local demand.” Mr Christie said.

Meantime, National Marketing Manager at Subaru, Amanda Leaney, said she was looking to help the brand shrug off it’s “conservative shackles” in coming years.

While Subaru has again reiterated that it is going to go to even greater lengths in coming years to find a new generation of Subaru owners.

As part of the brands ‘do’ sales philosophy Subaru is pushing ahead with more shopping centre showrooms (where full car dealership functions can be carried out) and innovations like the brand’s mobile servicing trial.
