Additional Australian Subaru owners are being contacted in regards to a recall of their vehicles over a possible air pump issue.
As reported in October (details here), the recall affects Subaru Liberty GT MY2007-2009), Subaru Impreza WRX/STI (MY2009-2014) and Subaru Forester XT (MY2009-2012).
Originally affecting 27,000 cars in total, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has just issued an extended recall notice with an additional 600+ cars affected.
Check the updated list of Subaru vehicles affected here (have your VIN handy).
The recall notice advising that certain affected vehicles may contain a potentially faulty secondary air pump relay.
If the relay is faulty, the secondary air pump is powered continuously and may overheat, posing a fire risk.
Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for replacement of the relay at no cost.
