Volkswagen Golf GTI returns to its roots with a three-door model…
Coinciding with the August launch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R, the German maker is releasing the Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance Edition 1 in limited numbers.
It’s come full circle with the special edition Golf GTI offered as a three-door hatchback – the Golf’s original form at conception.
Only 150 of these will made available complete with a 2.0 litre (189kW/370Nm) engine, seven-speed DSG transmission, front differential lock, large disc brakes, microfleece and faux leather trims and 19” alloy wheels.
Driving aids will also be installed such as adaptive cruise control, lane assist, park assist, dynamic light assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
As an added bonus a complimentary GTI merchandise pack worth $340 will be thrown in with each new vehicle including a sport bag, umbrella, cup, folding box and a beach towel.
“This version of the Golf GTI is one for the purists – the hot hatch on which all others are implicitly based on.”
