There’s a change at the top coming for Renault Australia with news the local operation is seeking a new managing director.
A statement released a short time ago says Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia, has left the company.
In the statement, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Renault Asia-Pacific, Guillaume Sicard, paid tribute to the contribution made by Mr Hocevar.
“Justin has helped build Renault’s Australian market operations since 2010, culminating in local annual sales growth beyond the 11,000 unit mark, having successfully transitioned Renault’s Australian business from being an importer to a fully-fledged subsidiary of the Renault group,”
“Justin has steadily built Renault’s place in the Australian new-car market and has contributed in developing not only the public’s awareness of our brand, across our portfolio of passenger, commercial and Renault Sport products, but also our strong and committed network of dealers.
“The Renault team is thankful for his contribution to our brand and business development.
“Thanks to this solid base, Renault is ready to further develop and enter a new era in Australia.”
As Mr Sicard mentioned, Mr Hocevar leaves the post with Renault in good shape in Australia.
VFACTS data for August shows the French brand delivered 914 vehicles locally in the month – an improvement of 6.9% on the same month last year.
While across the first eight months of the year Renault sales were up 1.9% with 7,270 total deliveries.
The departure of the local Renault boss is the latest in a run of senior management changes at car brands in recent times.
