The partnership between Renault and Nissan will be deepened in an attempt to continue to save production costs and offer even better cars.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance this afternoon announced it will strengthen synergies in four core divisions – Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, and Human Resources.
Already the partnership between the two car makers is said to be helping them save in the vicinity of $6 billion (AUD) a year. The Alliance aims to increase these savings to over $8 billion (AUD) annually by 2018.
Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO and Chairman Carlos Ghosn says it makes sense to continue to work towards even more cost saving synergies.
“The auto industry is rapidly evolving, requiring Renault and Nissan to leverage the Alliance as a pragmatic business tool,”
“The road ahead is one of more convergence, working more closely together.”
