Record breaking start to 2017 for BMW

2017 sales up another 5.8% for BMW…

Things aren’t going quite so well for BMW in Australia, however on the global stage things couldn’t be tracking better for BMW.

Parent company, BMW Group, has just reported recorded sales of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce cars across the first four months of 2017.

In total, 779,736 vehicles were delivered, a total up 5.8% on the same period in 2016.

BMW brand sales are up 6.2% this year and MINI sales have grown 3.6%.

But it’s the BMW i and BMW iPerformance models that have seen the most growth with customer deliveries increasing 82.7%.

BMW sales boss, Dr Ian Robertson, welcomed the strong results.

“Thanks to the strength of our model line-up, the BMW Group continues to achieve sustainable, profitable sales growth month after month,”

“Customer demand is high across the range with a number of stand-out models, including the X1, the 5 Series and the 7 Series.

“As availability of the new BMW 5 Series ramps up, demand for this new generation is twice as high as for the previous model at this point in the market launch.”
