12.3” digital display for new RR Velar

The all-new Range Rover Velar will land in Australia in October (pricing and specs here) and with it will come this fully digital cockpit.

The 12.3” high-def digital display was shown today by U.S.-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Visteon Corporation.

The ‘virtual’ cluster features retina-class resolution and allows you to personalize the info displayed, including a full-view map when in navigation mode.

“The Velar is the first vehicle to feature our new fully reconfigurable instrument cluster technology,” said Sachin Lawande, Visteon president and CEO.

“It incorporates significantly enhanced software capabilities and processing power,”

“We have a longstanding collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover that has pioneered several ‘industry-firsts’ including large-format reconfigurable clusters and high-res dual-view info displays.”

While Land Rover has also chosen Visteon 8” displays for the Velar’s rear-seat entertainment system (as below).Range Rover Velar digital instruments revealed

Boasting liquid crystal technology and full 24-bit colour rendering, Visteon say the screens deliver a superb user experience.

We’ll continue to bring you more details on the new Range Rover Velar as they come to hand.
