As the old saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover and that seems to ring true for…lubrication oil.

Pressol’s Do it yourself Oil is an all purpose mineral oil that comes in a triangular-shaped, 100mL bottle with a poorly printed label!

Even the name, though self-explanatory, isn’t all that attractive.

But it’s the contents I’m interested in so I put it to the test.

I applied the oil to obvious locations like car door hinges and locks. The Pressol oil is quite thin in its viscosity and finds all the gaps on its own without much direction. But the pointy nozzle does aid the process.

The doors were a lot smoother after application so I took it indoors and tried it out on cupboard doors with the same positive effect.

After that I went round the house looking for anything I could possibly apply the oil to.

You’ll be happy to know it’s now a squeak-free zone!

Pressol Do it yourself Oil is available from Bunnings.
