Permatex Fast Orange Pumice Hand Soap Review – My hands were covered in grease, oil and dust.

If you’re doing real work on your car then you’re going to get your hands really dirty.

So, you then need a heavy-duty soap to remove the grease and grime, but are they all the same? I tested out the Permatex Fast Orange Pumice Hand Soap, a product made in the USA, and are of the belief that no, they probably aren’t.

Using our test vehicle to provide the oil, grease, dirt and brake-dust my hands were, well, about as dirty as hands can get.

At first I noticed that the soap wasn’t as ‘gritty’ as perhaps I expected and to be honest I think this lack of abrasive elements affects the effectiveness of this product.

I lathered up my hands for 30 seconds before rinsing and there were still large areas of grease and grime on my hands.

A second go saw me have to use my nails on my opposite hand to lift the grease and to me this proves the point that this product is a little bit ‘light-duty’ for serious applications where grease and oil are involved.

Permatex Fast Orange Pumice Hand Soap Review – We got there in the end, but it did take a lot of scrubbing!

In saying that, Permatex Fast Orange Pumice Hand Soap did leave my hands feeling soft and the orange aroma that the soap leaves on your skin isn’t unpleasant.

Overall, I was disappointed however.
