Australian owners of Suzuki Swift and Suzuki Swift Sport vehicles will be asked to return their vehicle to a Suzuki dealership to have an issue with the park brake attended to.
The Suzuki Swift recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
The ACCC recall notice advising that the inner diameter of the cylinder that wraps the piston on the parking brake may be wider and therefore not sealing inside the caliper.
This could cause brake fluid to leak and in a worst case scenario the brakes may become inoperative, posing an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.
Suzuki Swift and Swift Sport vehicles should be taken to an authorised Suzuki dealer for inspection and for the counter measure parts to be fitted.
