More ups and downs for the car brands in November

We’re on our way to another strong year of new car/SUV/4×4 and commercial vehicle sales in 2017, as always though there are some brands doing better than others.

Ford suffered a blow in November, the VFACTS data confirming the blue oval made way for Mitsubishi in the top 5 most popular brands.

Conversely, rivals Holden finally stemmed the flow somewhat with a 2.6% improvement on the same month last year.

Nissan had another shocker, the Japanese brand going backwards nearly 20% in the month, while ‘little sister’ Mitsubishi had a terrific result.

Isuzu Ute recorded more strong gains with both MU-X and D-MAX on the up.

BMW continued to lose ground, compatriots Audi and Mercedes-Benz also shed customers in the month.

The French duo, Peugeot and Citroen, both clawed there way back to the right side of the ledger, rivals Renault lost ground.

There must be plenty of serious money around – Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche and Rolls-Royce sales soared.

And the Chinese brands generally did quite well in November with all but Great Wall making strong gains in our local market.

    • Hi Anthony, November’s numbers for Peugeot were boosted by big gains for the 308 and 3008 SUV. For the 308 there were 187 sales in the month, a big improvement on the 41 delivered in November 2016. While the 3008 found 231 customers in November (up from 0 last Nov).
