Low fuel prices are just one reason why a Nissan LEAF electric car purchase in 2015 may not have been the most astute purchase.
The Nissan EV has topped a list of the Top 10 2015 models that have lost their original values the quickest, with the data coming from a study conducted by used-vehicle website Carlypso.com.
Other 2015 model cars available in Australia that were found to have lost the most value include the Kia Optima, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Volkswagen Beetle, and Mitsubishi Lancer.
2015 Cars with The Worst Resale Values in the U.S.:
- Cadillac CTS (down 34%)
- Kia Optima (down 35%)
- Mitsubishi Lancer (down 35%)
- Chevrolet Express (down 37%)
- Volkswagen Beetle (down 37%)
- Kia Cadenza (down 38%)
- Chevrolet Camaro (down 39%)
- Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (down 41%)
- Dodge Charger (down 45%)
- Nissan LEAF (down 48%)
With the Nissan LEAF, the data shows that the used value of the model has been hit by a federal tax credit and recent price reductions.
Those lower fuel prices as well have helped the Nissan model shed up to 48% of its original retail value in its first year on the road.
