New X-Trail set to hit Australian market in 2014.
The Nissan X-Trail is in line for a much needed new look with the next generation of the popular soft-roader unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Using a new jointly-developed Nissan/Renault platform, Nissan promises the new X-Trail will have just as much off-road ability as the current version, but promises a more refined drive.
It will also boast some pretty impressive technology, including the latest generation of NissanConnect, Nissan’s in-car navigation, information and entertainment system.
The X-Trail has also been put on a diet, and despite having a larger surface area than the current model promises weight savings from the use of light-weight materials, including a mostly plastic tailgate!
The new design is also much more aerodynamic than the current X-Trail shape.
At this stage Nissan hasn’t revealed which engines the next X-Trail will offer, but they have confirmed the model will be launched in the New Year and will go on sale from around July.
