Lighter, lower and larger – the new Peugeot 308 is nearly here.

The all-new Peugeot 308 will be offered in five trim levels – Access, Active, Allure, Allure Premium and GT.

Peugeot will have the new 308 in Australian dealerships in coming weeks; prices will range between $21,990 and $37,490.

Built on the same platform as the ultra-impressive Citroen Grand C4 Picasso, the new Peugeot 308 will be offered in five-door hatch and touring (wagon) versions and, at launch, will come with the choice of a 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel.

From March 2015 that engine range will extend to a further three units, including turbo-charged four-cylinder petrol power plants and an uprated diesel.

To match the all new styling, the new Peugeot 308 boasts larger external dimensions, growing all-round but with a lower roof height. Front and rear overhangs are also reduced, pushing the wheels out closer to the corners of the Peugeot.

Up to 140kgs has also been shaved off the models waistline, compared to the previous model.

With a sleek and modern new cabin, boasting more interior space and more generously-sized cargo/storage areas, the new Peugeot 308 looks an impressive new offering.
