Two Mitsubishi models recalled to fix issues with engines and brakes.
The latest model of the Mitsubishi Mirage and 2011-12 diesel ASX models are being recalled.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission say some models of the budget priced 2014 model year Mirage may not have had their brake lines properly vented for air at the factory.
This could affect braking performance.
While in a separate recall nearly 1600 diesel ASX vehicles will need to be taken back to a Mitsubishi dealership after it was found soot deposits could accumulate on piston ring grooves.
This defect, according to the ACCC, could lead to the pistons overheating and even melting.
Diesel ASX owners are asked to use low power until their engines are checked at a Mitsubishi dealership.
