Mercedes-Benz is on track for another record year after a booming start to 2016.
Sales data out of Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Stuttgart show the brand delivered 198,921 vehicles in March, that number being 8.4% above the same month last year. While for the first quarter of the year Mercedes-Benz deliveries skipped ahead by 12.6%.
While in Europe, Mercedes-Benz deliveries in March climbed 9.8% and 17.9% in the wider Asia Pacific region, that was on the back of a more than 26% increase in sales in China.
Sales stars for Mercedes-Benz continue to be the brands compact cars – A-Class, B-Class, CLA, CLA and GLA models, which experienced a 21.9% increase in deliveries last month. SUV sales eclipsing the smaller models though, sales of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family are up an astonishing 44.4%!
Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing and Sales, Ola Källenius, welcomed the strong March 2016 sales results.
“Mercedes-Benz posted the strongest unit sales in the company’s history in March.
“We remain on track. We have just presented two new vehicles without predecessors: the C-Class Cabriolet and the GLC Coupé.”
