Meguiar’s Gold Class Trim Detailer Review

We review Meguiar’s Gold Class Trim Detailer…

Black plastic trims tend to fade over time thanks to sun exposure, unless your car never leaves the garage!

There are a range of products that claim to be able to turn back the clock and this week I road tested Meguiar’s Gold Class Trim Detailer.

Given Meguiar’s reputation for car care, I expected a lot from this product.

It claims to restore the colour of dark plastic or rubber trims, bumpers, mouldings and even wiper arms.

As you can see the trim on my door is definitely not black any more!

Following the instructions, I applied the cream with a cloth, rubbing it in.

I guess the results speak for themselves.

The directions on the bottle suggest another application for ‘extremely neglected surfaces’ (which in the case of my car are definitely neglected!), but I found that the second coat didn’t make any noticeable difference.

The treatment will fade over time and requires regular application.

Having said that, Meguiar’s Trim Detailer does restore the colour but I wouldn’t say it returns it to showroom condition.
