Mazda6 the second fastest Mazda model to hit three million units.
Mazda has paused to mark a significant production milestone with the three millionth Mazda6 rolling off the production line.
Taking just under 13 years to reach the milestone, the mid-size Mazda6 is now in its third-generation and is produced in four different facilities in Japan, China, Russia and Vietnam.
Interestingly, the first-generation Mazda6 has proven the most popular version so far. In all, more than 1.9 million units were produced, that number dropped to a total of 718,000 second-generation models and the current offerings total of just over 335,000 units.
While next month an updated Mazda6 will start arriving in dealerships, the refreshed model gets some subtle exterior and cabin tweaks, revised suspension, updated connectivity system and new safety technologies.
In Australia, the Mazda6 range is priced from $33,460.
