Australia’s second best-selling car brand has just won a glowing endorsement in the U.S. – Mazda declared the nation’s Best Car Brand.
The Japanese car company took this year’s U.S. News & World Report awards after topping the publication’s U.S. News Best Cars rankings.

The ratings are based on a combination of the consensus of the automotive press, safety scores and reliability data.
There were other category winners – Honda was declared the top SUV brand, Ford was named the Best Truck Brand, and Porsche came away with the Best Luxury Car Brand title.
But the star of the awards was Mazda.
Managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars Jamie Page Deaton tells us Mazda can put the win down to the strong performance of the Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5.
“All three models have top-notch performance that puts an emphasis on direct, sporty handling, as well as quality interiors that are more upscale than their price tags might suggest.”
The award comes just months after Mazda Australia was declared the car brand with the most satisfied customers by Roy Morgan Research.
Mazda is also in with a chance of taking out the 2017 Behind the Wheel Car of the Year Award with my nomination of the new-gen CX-5.
