Kia car sales down in July 2015

Kia global car sales down nearly 4% in July 2015.

Kia car sales down in July 2015 – Kia Sportage was again Kia’s second-best selling model in the month behind Rio.

In what must come as great frustration for Kia executives the South Korean car brand is experiencing disappointing sales results in 2015.

Despite strong gains in the Korean market (up 13.9%) and North America (up 5.8%), Kia’s global July 2015 sales total was down by a substantial 9,614 units, or a full four percent on the brands July 2014 performance.

Kia sales for the first seven months of the year are down 0.9% on the same period last year, the brand managing to achieve 1,682,692 deliveries in the period this year.

Frustratingly for Kia, the 2015 sales declines come despite the brand bringing to global markets a number of all-new models, including the Kia Carnival people-mover and Sorento SUV.

Meantime, Kia’s best-selling model in overseas markets during July 2015 was the Kia Rio with 38,500 units sold. Rio finishing ahead of Kia Sportage (28,993), Cerato (22,691) and Kia Optima (20,325).
