Help the environment with these simple car tips…
True, the most polluting part of your car is probably the exhaust pipe, but there are other things we can do as car owners to protect the environment.
As we know, to help lower those emissions, it’s important to keep your car in good health, with the correct air pressures in your tyres and carrying as little weight as possible.
Driving at a consistent pace will also help.
Beyond that, here’s some other ways you can help the environment according to the road safety organisation – IAM Roadsmart:
Don’t Litter
Always place rubbish in a bin or bag it for later. Nobody likes a litterbug and fines do apply if you get caught.
Share a Car
For multiple car owners in one household, why not car share? If you are doing the morning commute it is better to have fewer cars on the road and can save money on fuel consumption.
Park and ride can also be a green option for those people living in cities.
Plan your journey
Getting lost will only cost you extra money, create more traffic and more pollution.
So, make sure you know where you’re going before you head out, oh, and try to travel outside of peak times as being stuck in traffic also wastes fuel.
