Infiniti gets ready to debut QX50 Concept

Infiniti looks set to finally fill a significant void in its SUV range with the mid-size Infiniti QX50.

The Japanese brand is about to take the covers off this QX50 Concept at the Detroit Motor Show, at this stage though Infiniti are only saying it’s “a glimpse at a possible future production model”.

But with the smaller Infiniti QX30 selling up a storm and then a significant step up in size to the QX70, and even larger QX80, it seems more likely than not that we will see the QX50, possibly as soon as next year.

A ’50 series’ mid-size SUV offering would also mirror the Infiniti sedan line-up.

Global boss of Infiniti Cars, Roland Krueger, says the QX50 Concept is an evolution of the recently revealed 2016 QX Sport Inspiration (details here).

“With the unveiling of the QX Sport Inspiration at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show, we showed the future of INFINITI QX models.

“The new QX50 Concept evolves this concept further and shows how INFINITI could develop its future presence in the fastest-growing vehicle segment globally.”
