More than a million Nissan and Infiniti vehicles affected…
Nissan is recalling more than a million vehicles globally, mostly in the United States, to fix software that could deactivate the front passenger air-bag.
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the vehicle occupant classification system software may incorrectly classify the passenger seat as empty.
This could see the air-bag deactivated and increases the risk of an injury in a crash.
As yet there has been no word on whether any Nissan or Infiniti vehicles sold in Australia will be recalled.
Affected vehicles include 2013-14 models of the Altima, Pathfinder and Leaf electric car, along with the 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan.
