Early Holden Cruze Compact SUV recalled over ignition concerns.
The YG model Holden Cruze Compact SUV is being recalled to fix an issue with the vehicles ignition switch that could pose a fire hazard.
The 2002 to 2005 model year Holden Cruze was manufactured by Suzuki and rebadged as a Cruze, the Suzuki version sold in Australia was known as the Ignis and it was recalled last week over the same issue.
Also being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Holden Cruze recall notice says that the contact grease used for lubrication within the vehicle ignition switch may carbonise with frequent usage.
Carbonisation of the grease may cause smoke to come from the ignition and pose a potential fire hazard.
Holden will write to affected YG Holden Cruze owners to notify them of required action.
