HAVAL/Great Wall say the P8 will spearhead the company’s charge toward sustainable fuel technology.

The WEY P8 PHEV will feature a powertrain that combines a 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine with electric motors on each axle.

With combined outputs of 250kW/520Nm the all-wheel drive SUV looks set to offer plenty of get up and go.

The vehicles battery packs can be recharged in four hours and HAVAL/Great Wall say total range electric/petrol will be around 660km (though electric drive range wasn’t confirmed).

Meantime, the Chinese auto giants say they have also made further strides on the autonomous vehicles front and are promising to have Level-4 automation available in the next two years (check out our guide to the different levels of automation here).
