Final countdown to Toyota C-HR arrival

It looks like the right car, at the right time, with Toyota finally welcoming a crossover to its extensive range of vehicles in Australia.

The top-selling car brand welcomes the new Toyota C-HR into its dealerships in coming weeks.

The new offering, named as one of our most keenly-anticipated new cars of 2017, becomes the second all-new Toyota model to arrive in Australia in the past two years, following the arrival of the Toyota Fortuner in late 2015.

Here’s what we know about the 2017 Toyota C-HR:

  • Crossover model that will sit (essentially) between Corolla and RAV4
  • First teased by Toyota as far back as 2014 (details here)
  • Powered exclusively by 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 85kW/185Nm
  • Transmission choice will be six-speed manual or CVT automatic
  • Auto versions of the Toyota C-HR will offer a choice of 2WD or AWD drivetrains
  • Will come standard with safety features including a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control and lane departure alert
  • Boasts Toyota’s ‘Sensual Tech’ interior design with functionality, sensuality and fashionable style the priorities.
  • Top-of-the-range model to come with heated seats, privacy glass, leather-accented trim and 18” alloys
  • Will be offered in a choice of seven external colours, and two roof colours

  1. Instantly, I liked the strong body on this vehicle. The grey distinguished color is just perfect for me and definitely fits my style. I’ll have to check my local dealer to see if it’s in stock!

  2. The car looks sport and a bit bulky, seems like this is Toyota answer to Honda H-RV and New Nissan X-Trail. The velg reminds me of Honda’s car.

  3. It looks like a really refined version of the CR-V at first look. Is it a 2/3-door or I just can’t see the rear passenger entry? Either way, it looks pretty mean and I’d wanna test drive one soon!

  4. Just by looking at the images, the all-new Toyata CH-R will definitely stand out from the crowd. With its special features, no wonder it is considered most anticipated car this 2017.

  5. This car looks mean! The Fortuner has nothing on this! Can’t wait to see more of its technical specs, or better yet, to test-drive it!
