Skoda Superb owners most happy with their cars

UK owner study puts Skoda ahead of rivals…

When it comes to cars, money doesn’t always buy complete happiness.

That seems to be the main message coming out of the results of a survey of car owners in the UK conducted by the Auto Express publication.

The study revealed the Skoda Superb is the car which makes its owners happiest, with a remarkable 93.4% satisfaction score.

While stablemate, the Skoda Yeti, took second place with a 93.3% score.

Other models in the top five included the Kia C’eed (a model not offered here), Toyota’s RAV4 and the Lexus RX.

At the other end of the satisfaction scale were owners of the budget-priced Volkswagen up!, the more premium Audi A1, Citroen C4 Cactus, Ford Mondeo and Citroen C1.

And the Jaguar XF took the crown that no one wants – most faults!

Almost a third of owners reported their car has had an issue in the first 12 months of ownership.

Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief of Auto Express, says it was nice to see moderately priced car models like the Kia and the Skodas making people happy.

“Some people still have a negative opinion of brands like Skoda and Kia, but the results of Driver Power prove this is really outdated.

“It may seem odd that models from Skoda’s parent company VW and Audi scored so much lower in the survey but when customers pay for a quality experience and don’t get it, they’re bound to feel let down.”
