RAM Trucks recalled to fix indicator issue

Electrical fault in RAM Trucks

A possible electrical fault has been identified in some RAM Trucks sold in Australia.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects vehicles imported and sold in Australia by American Special Vehicles.

In all, 480 RAM Trucks on Australia roads are being recalled.

The recall notice advises that the turn signal speed doesn’t change when a globe is not working.

What are the hazards?

If the turn signal speed doesn’t change, the driver will be unaware a globe is not working.

This may pose an accident risk for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Affected RAM Truck owners will be contacted when spare parts are available and then will be requested to contact American Special Vehicles to arrange for an inspection and repair.

The latest action comes after a small number of RAM Trucks were recalled last year to fix a possible issue with a brake booster hose.
