Ford Mustang retains top sports car title in October

The Ford Mustang has proven an enormous success for Ford Australia with the ‘pony car’ again finishing as the country’s most sought-after sports car last month.

The VFACTS sales data for October shows the Mustang enjoyed 584 sales in the month, finishing ahead of the Hyundai Veloster with 220 sales and BMW 2 Series Coupe/Convertible (primarily M2).

While the Abarth 124 Spider got off to an encouraging start in Australia with 77 sales.

October 2016 Sports Car (below $80,000) Sales Data:

Subaru BRZ, Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet and Peugeot 308 Convertible failed to achieve any sales in the month.

October 2016 Sports Car ($80,000-$200,000) Sales Data:

The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class didn’t register any sales in the month.

October 2016 Sports Car ($200,000+) Sales Data:

There were no sales recorded by the Jaguar XK Series in October.
