Engine upgrade for 2018 Hyundai Tucson

Tuscon Active and Elite get updated GDi engine…

The Hyundai Tucson was the best-selling medium SUV in Australia last month (details here) and now the model has enjoyed an engine upgrade as well.

Hyundai has confirmed the existing 2.0 litre engine has been replaced by a 2.0 litre GDi powerplant and that means more power and torque.

The engine boasts outputs of 121kW/203Nm and that’s up from the old engine’s 114kW/192Nm.

Fuel consumption remains in line with the superseded unit.

Added to the MY18 version of the Hyundai Tucson Active and Elite, transmission choice for the Active and Active X is six-speed manual or six-speed auto, while the Elite grade is auto only.

Meantime, the updated Hyundai Tuscon also welcomes an upgraded infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The infotainment system upgrade, with improved sat-nav, means the smartphone connectivity systems are now available right across the Tucson range for 2018.
