2018 Volvo XC60 Now in Production

Highly-anticipated new Volvo now being built in Sweden…

The new-generation Volvo cars are not only safe and sensible, but also interesting and enjoyable and now the all-new XC60 is a step closer to reality.

Unveiled only last month at the Geneva Motor Show (details here), the new mid-size Volvo SUV is already being produced by Volvo in Sweden.

Set to join those other new-gen Volvo models – XC90 and V90/S90, in Volvo dealerships later in the year, the announcement of the commencement of production coincides with Volvo’s 90th birthday celebrations.

It was on the 14th of April 1927 when the first Volvo was produced.

Håkan Samuelsson, chief executive of Volvo Cars, says it’s fitting that the production of the first new XC60 coincides with the important anniversary.

“The past 90 years have been exciting, but the 10 years left until the 100-year anniversary may come to be more exciting as industry focus shifts to autonomous driving, electrification and connectivity,”

“The new XC60 is in many ways the embodiment of these trends.”

We will bring you more details on the all-new Volvo XC60 as they come to hand in our Volvo XC60 News section.
