2016 Volvo Cars Recalled over Electrical Fault

A recall involving 1141 Volvo XC60 (diesel), V60 Cross Country and XC70 vehicles has been initiated after a possible electrical fault was identified.

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Volvo electrical fault recall involves only MY16 model vehicles within these VIN ranges;

  • XC60: 775048 to 905018
  • V60 Cross Country: 003024 to 017727
  • XC70: 235012 to 260313

The ACCC recall notice advising that the engine can momentarily cut-off and immediately restart while driving. This issue may cause disturbances in some electrical systems such as shut down of the instrument cluster, infotainment system and loss of power steering assist.

Sudden loss of power and reduced power steering assistance may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

Affected owners will be contacted by Volvo by mail.
