Fiat Panda Cross launched in Europe

Upgraded Panda offers a bit more off-road ability.

Fiat Panda Cross launched in Europe
Fiat says the Panda Cross is just at home in extreme off road conditions and the rough and tumble of city traffic.

Stand by for a more rough and rugged version of the Fiat Panda to arrive in Australia.

Known as the Fiat Panda Cross, the new variant was launched overnight in Europe and is expected to be here in 2015.

How is it different? Well, Fiat says this one has better off-road ability than the standard Panda 4×4.

Featuring larger 185/65R15 Mud and Snow rated tyres, improved ground clearance, beefed-up underbody protection, a locking diff and hill descent control, the Panda Cross also gets redesigned bumpers that help approach and departure angles.

The Panda Cross will also come with uprated engines – both the 0.9 litre TwinAir Turbo and the 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel boast an extra 3kW for total outputs of 66kW/145Nm and 58kW/190Nm respectively.

The dashboard is finished in a new copper colour and the seats are trimmed in bespoke natural fabrics with brown eco-leather bolsters.

Arriving in Europe later in the year, the Fiat Panda Cross is expected here early in 2015. We will keep you updated with Australian pricing and specification details.
