Falken begins new assault on Australian truck tyre market

Wide range of new Falken truck tyres now available in Australia…

Sumitomo Rubber Australia (SRAU) is intent on getting more Falken tyres onto Australian trucks and has just announced the arrival of a new range of rubber.

Ranging across sizes/applications including small/medium and large, and highway and on/off road truck tyres, the new products have been put to the test by Australian fleet operators.

SRAU Technical Services Manager, Mick Small, says the Falken product has shown to be ideal for Australia’s unique road conditions.

“The take-up of these products has been impressive, with BI850 being the standout.

“Tipper/dog and livestock operators have quickly adopted it, with great results coming from the 22.2mm deep open traction pattern and mild cut/chip resistant compound.”

One of the fleet operations that put the truck tyres to the test was Gates Haulage from NSW.

Manager, Paul Gates, tells us the Falken product has proven itself.

“Falken and Sumitomo tyres have always performed well in our tipper and dog operations.

“We have been running the new Falken BI850 drive tyre for over six months now. Basically, they’ve become the standard fitment for all of our PBS combinations.”

More details on the new tyres can be found on the Falken Tyres Australia website.
