It seems this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show has been all about electric cars with Honda not feeling out of place with significant EV announcements and developments.
As previously covered, Honda has unveiled a new electric car concept at the show, and taken the covers off a smart electricity control system that could benefit the bank balances of electric car owners in the future.
Now though comes the biggest news from Honda on the EV front – a commitment to have electrification right across its range of cars available in Europe in just two years.
The 2019 pledge was made by Honda’s President and CEO, Takahiro Hachigo, who said one of the cars available would be a vehicle based on the Urban EV Concept (pictured below).
“This is not some vision of the distant future; a production version of this car will be here in Europe in 2019,”
“Here in Europe, we see this move towards electrification gathering pace at an even higher rate than elsewhere.”
At present though there are no Honda hybrids or electric cars available in Australia (other than the NSX supercar).
We will keep you updated as further details come to hand.
