Revealed just last month, the new-gen Swift Sport is powered by Suzuki’s 1.4 litre turbocharged engine that boasts 103kW and 230Nm.
That’s 70Nm more torque than the current edition car.
While Suzuki has also shaved about 80kg off the Swift Sport waistline (new weight is around 970kg).
Aside from the early 2018 arrival, Suzuki also confirmed Aussie buyers will be offered by the six-speed auto and six-speed manual transmissions.
Recently appointed Suzuki boss Michael Pachota tells us the new car is sharper and quicker than the outgoing model.
“Similar to the legend status of our famed Swift GTi, Sport has developed a global cult following with the first two generations.
“The level of performance, tech, safety, and style is unparalleled and we are counting down the weeks until it hits our shores.”
We will bring you further details, including pricing and specification details, when confirmed by Suzuki.
